The Flying Burrito Brothers has been part of New Zealand’s hospitality scene for over two decades, building a reputation around vibrant venues, Mexican-inspired food, cocktails, and social dining experiences. With an already established customer base and strong brand recognition across multiple locations, the challenge was less about introducing the brand to people, and more about keeping it culturally relevant, engaging, and consistently top of mind within an increasingly competitive hospitality landscape.
A major focus of our work was refreshing the brand’s digital presence in a way that reflected the personality customers already experienced in-store. We started by redesigning the website with a much stronger focus on colour, energy, and user experience — creating a platform that felt playful, bold, and aligned with the atmosphere of the venues while improving navigation for bookings, menus, functions, and promotions.
From there, the strategy expanded into ongoing social media management, photography, SEO, email marketing, Meta advertising, and Google Ads campaigns designed to keep the brand active across every major customer touchpoint. Rather than relying solely on traditional restaurant advertising, the focus became creating a steady stream of campaigns, content, and promotions that gave customers ongoing reasons to return.
Because hospitality concepts like Mexican dining thrive heavily on social occasions, group experiences, and promotional culture, a large part of the partnership involved helping shape new campaign ideas and customer offers. Together, we developed and promoted campaigns such as Bottomless Brunch, Happy Hour, 2-for-1 deals, and seasonal specials designed to encourage repeat visitation, group bookings, and higher customer engagement across all locations.
The overall strategy combined performance marketing with hospitality-driven campaign thinking — helping evolve a long-standing restaurant brand into a more digitally connected experience while continuing to strengthen customer loyalty across New Zealand.
