The Muse Hotel in Christchurch offers a layered, boutique experience set in the heart of the city—where art, architecture, and atmosphere converge. To help bring this offering to life, Hosper was engaged to create a full-scale brand video capturing the essence of a guest’s journey through the hotel and beyond. The result was a visually rich production that showcases not just the rooms and amenities, but the cultural vibrancy surrounding The Muse.
The creative direction was built around a simple but immersive narrative: a couple checking in, exploring, and indulging in everything the hotel has to offer. We filmed across multiple spaces—from the guest rooms styled with eclectic art pieces and bold color palettes, to the ground-floor café Dainty, where we captured slow mornings, coffee rituals, and casual dining energy. On the rooftop, we showcased Pink Lady, the hotel’s panoramic bar, framing golden hour cocktails with sweeping skyline views and elevated social vibes.
To connect the hotel to the heartbeat of Christchurch, we extended the lens beyond the building. Our models—styled to reflect modern, international guests—were filmed riding the city’s iconic tram, strolling down vibrant laneways, and experiencing the streets just steps from the lobby. These urban vignettes helped convey a sense of place, showing potential guests that staying at The Muse means immediate access to the best of the city.
Cinematically, the production leaned into a mix of polished handhelds, natural light, and aerial footage to balance intimacy with scale. Drone shots added a cinematic layer to the story, situating the hotel within the city grid and revealing its architectural form within context. Every shot was carefully composed to reflect The Muse’s curated aesthetic—contemporary, stylish, and distinctly boutique.
This video now acts as a central brand asset for The Muse—used across their website, social platforms, and paid campaigns. It invites potential guests into a complete experience, not just a place to stay. For Hosper, it was about distilling the soul of a hotel into 90 seconds of motion—elevating a property into a lifestyle destination.
