The Mud Bar is a new hospitality concept in Christchurch’s vibrant St Asaph Street precinct—pairing flame-grilled fare and warm interiors with a laid-back, contemporary atmosphere. In preparation for their launch, Hosper worked with the team to deliver a strong visual foundation for the brand. This included content creation, photography, and a one-off event video, helping The Mud Bar open its doors with a confident and cohesive identity.
At the heart of the launch was a collaborative event with Hide Club, the neighbouring live-music venue, which culminated in a packed courtyard celebration. Hosper produced a high-energy event recap video that captured the atmosphere of the night—the crowd, music, and energy shared across both venues. While the collaboration was a one-time event, the video served as a powerful visual announcement of The Mud Bar’s arrival and its connection to the local scene.
Photography played a key role in shaping the venue’s visual language. Our team captured a full suite of images that balanced lifestyle, food, and space—showcasing not only the textures and tones of the venue’s interiors, but also the charisma of its offering: wood-fired pizzas, craft cocktails, and inviting social moments. These assets were deployed across the website, social channels, booking platforms and menus, giving The Mud Bar a polished presence from day one.
The resulting content system was designed to be both evergreen and flexible. While the video captured the excitement of the one-off launch event, the imagery was crafted to support the venue’s long-term brand expression—adaptable for events, promotions, and day-to-day marketing needs. Through close collaboration and creative direction, Hosper helped position The Mud Bar not just as a restaurant and bar, but as a destination that feels as good as it looks.
