Strawberry Fare is one of Christchurch’s most iconic dining spots—famous for its towering desserts, seasonally inspired mains, and longstanding history in the city’s hospitality scene. Despite decades of success and a loyal customer base, the restaurant had done little to no formal marketing before partnering with Hosper. What they did have, however, was a treasure trove: an extensive email database built up over years of bookings and loyal diners. The challenge was clear—how do we turn that untapped asset into consistent, measurable growth?
Rather than overhauling what already worked, we focused on amplifying it. By activating their existing customer database through thoughtful and well-timed email marketing, we helped bring past diners back through the doors—while creating space to introduce new guests to the experience. Our content was tailored to reflect the tone of the venue itself: warm, nostalgic, and just a little indulgent. From seasonal dessert drops to subtle menu refreshes, each email reminded customers what they loved about Strawberry Fare—and gave them a reason to return.
At the same time, we addressed one of their biggest blind spots: visibility to new customers. While well known by name, Strawberry Fare wasn’t showing up as strongly in digital spaces where modern diners search. We established an active presence across Facebook and Instagram, regularly producing photography that captured the generous portions, moody lighting, and friendly service that have kept the venue busy for years. Through organic content and light, localised paid campaigns, we ensured Strawberry Fare stayed front of mind—not just for longtime fans, but for a new generation of diners.
Today, our work with Strawberry Fare continues. Every month, we update visual content, shape social storytelling, and deliver email campaigns designed to keep momentum going. We're continuously optimising campaigns and evolving messaging based on seasonality, audience insights, and what’s happening on the floor.
What began as a quiet Christchurch favourite with little online presence is now a brand with a strong, growing digital identity—without losing its sense of tradition. The loyalty was always there; our role is simply to keep it engaged and invite more people to the table.
